Laetitia Palmade

Dr Laetitia PICART-PALMADE is associate professor at University of Montpellier and member of the Engineering of Agro-polymers and Emerging Technologies joint research unit (IATE), since 2009. After an Engineer degree in Food Science and Technology (2000), she obtained, in 2004, a PhD degree in Food Sciences at the University of Montpellier on the following topic: Emerging food preservation techniques: pulsed electric fields, combined high pressure/low temperature treatments, high pressure homogenization. Characterization of process parameters and microbial inactivation. Currently, her research topics and expertise are related to high pressure processing (hydrostatic or dynamic) and to the structuration and functionalization of nano and submicronic colloidal systems (proteins, emulsions) under constraints. Since 2007, she is in charge of the International Relationships of the Biological and Food Engineering Department of Polytech Montpellier (Engineering School). Since 2019, she is in charge of the international program FLOW, an undergraduate Engineering Summer school at Polytech Montpellier focused on the Grand Industrial challenges in France. Since 2011, she is member of the National Council of Universities (CNU – 64ème section). She is co-author of 27 scientific articles in international peer-review journals and has participated to the supervising of 9 PhD.
