Students at Iowa State (primarily Food Science, Dietetics, Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering) have the opportunity to enroll in a 3-credit study abroad course to Paris, France. The study abroad course will include regularly scheduled pre-departure class meetings, and two full weeks of hands-on learning and sight seeing in Paris, France and the surrounding area.
During the scheduled class times students will learn about:
- French culture and history
- Food production and food processing methods in France
- Study abroad protocols and logistics
During the time in Paris, students will have the opportunity to:
- Discuss sustainability issues as they relate to various aspects of food supply chains.
- Visit historic sites, monuments, and museums.
- Experience French food, and understand how food relates to French culture.
